ALOHA! It’s a purple polka dot Luau Pool Party!!

When my client first told me she had suggested a luau pool party for her daughter’s 7th birthday party – Miss Gabby didn’t seem to thrilled about the idea. Turns out, she just didn’t really know what a luau was, … Continue reading

signature “gift area”

Always included in our Create & Capture Couture Event package

is a decorated gift area…

a pretty little area designed to be a focal point

while the birthday child {or guest of honor}

opens their gifts.

In addition to looking good in your photos,

this area helps define the gift opener’s SPACE,

visually discouraging little “helpers”

from getting too close.

This in turn reduces the guest of honor’s stress,

as well as the attending parent’s and host/hostess’!

PLEASE NOTE:

We book one Create & Capture event per calendar day.

To ensure your first choice date for your event,

please call    774-242-04346   and  speak to Gina.

outdoor party games // Summer

When the weather is hot and sunny,

and you have an outdoor space at your party,

Birthday games are easy peasy to plan for.

For two of my girls’  favorites,

all you need is a faucet, bucket and paper cup!

Water tag

  1. Fill bucket and hand to the child who is “It”.
  2. “It”  then has to run after the other children, and
  3. “tag” them by splashing them with the water in the bucket!
  4. That soaking wet child is now “It”!
  5. Refill bucket and repeat.

Drip, Drip, Drop

  1. Fill cup with water and hand to child who is “It”
  2. All the other children sit in a circle and “It” walks around the circle {in Duck, Duck, Goose fashion} chanting drip (drips some water on each head) and then… DROP! (drops remaining water in cup on child’s head and that child springs up and chase “It” around the circle until they a) catch “It” placing “it” in the middle of circle for remainder of game or b) Do Not catch “It”, allowing It to sit in their abandoned spot, making the child standing “It”).
  3. Refill cup and repeat.

Splish Splash Elmo a 2nd Birthday Bash

Typically parents want to create a “pink” party for girls. And while I love, love, LOVE all things girly when creating a celebration, I was excited to work with Tiffany, who’s favorite color is blue and little Miss Sophia, who’s favorite … Continue reading

Rainbow Tie Dye 8th Birthday Party

When I was a child, my mom did everything by hand and from scratch. And I hated it. Complained incessantly. I STILL remember how excited I was the October she hurt her back, {she was moving a bureau to dust behind it. No, she wasn’t Fall cleaning, she did this … Continue reading

Tie Dye rainbow party {sneak peek!}

Coming up with  a PRETTY and different design for a rainbow tie dye party {the specific request of the to-be 8 year old guest of honor}  theme was challenging but after embracing turquoise and pink, and giving the “rainbow” colors an … Continue reading

Nautical cupcakes

image

Just finished this order of Nautical themed chocolate cupcakes with chocolate Italian buttercream frosting. EVERY time I create cupcakes or a cake for a celebration, I swear, this one is my favorite! I was in love with this batch the instant I unwrapped the cupcakes liners. It was my first time using a Meri Meri cupcake liners, but it will not be my last! They are a great weight and stayed true to color after baking chocolate cupcakes. Being summer and all, I am really digging on fun red, white and blue prints anyways, PLUS Nautical – as a theme – is a HUGE trend right now! After frosting these cupcakes with a chocolate Italian buttercream frosting, I topped them with custom edible cupcake toppers I created by cutting out white fondant circles and adhering wafer paper printed in food safe “ink” with classic nautical images – I purchased both the wafer paper and cupcake liners online, from Fancy Flours. Of course, I love to add a little something extra to each order… this time it was sixteen candles, blue, and a large red one – for good luck! Of course, this little lady will be enjoying these cupcakes with her family and friends while celebrating her sixteenth birthday aboard a Boston Harbor cruise ship – she sounds like one lucky girl already. Perhaps that candle can represent the magical year that is just beginning for her. Happy Sweet 16 and many more!!!

When I first heard the words hot pink + black zebra and classy, shower-like feel, my mind drew a blank. Those words didn’t seem to belong all in the same sentence together. Then,  I thought of the old print, well, … Continue reading
